What are the main causes of brain injuries?

According to the CDC, about 50% of all traumatic brain injuries are caused by motor vehicle crashes. Falls account for 21% and are the leading causes of traumatic brain injury in the elderly. Assaults and violence account for 12% of traumatic brain injuries, and sports and recreation 10%.
